Bus driver dies in fatal Rakiraki accident, 24 others injured

A tragic accident involving two buses has left one driver dead and 24 passengers injured.

The accident took place at Nokonoko junction, just past Namuimada village in Rakiraki,

Both the buses were on a special trip.

The collision occurred around 5:30am today, causing both buses to veer off the Kings Highway.

The impact also brought down an Energy Fiji Limited power pole.

Emergency services, including the National Fire Authority, responded to the scene.

The injured were transported to Rakiraki Hospital for medical treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the crash.
