WHEN canefarmers burn their cane, they know what they are doing.
They call it controlled burning.
They have fire breaks and pick the right time to burn.
A canefarmer lost about four acres of newly-planted cane when someone clearing their yard burnt rubbish and it spread to the cane farm.
I hope the farmer reports this so an investigation can be done.
