BURGER King will officially start services in Fiji on Monday with the opening of an outlet at the Nadi International Airport’s departure lounge.
The American global chain of hamburger fast food restaurants will in fact have two eateries at the airport, the second to begin operations once the multi-million dollar renovation of the international getaway is completed next year.
The Fiji perations will be managed by the Motibhai Group of Companies.
Speaking after the announcement of tenancy by Airports Fiji Ltd, Burger King Fiji director Tejash Patel said they were excited about the new venture.
He said the second facility would be established at the arrival terminal.
“We have a very aggressive outlet campaign rolling out over the next few months,” he said.
“We will be opening a Suva outlet in the next few weeks and again that is all part of our plan to expand our business.
“Burger King is a very well-known global brand and we a very excited to be introducing their unique products into the local market.
“We plan to open four outlets by 2016.”
He said the restaurant chain had a unique cooking style that made it different from other food servicing outlets.
“Everything is cooked over a flame grill which is quite different from what is offered in other restaurants.”
Burger King has a total of 274 restaurants worldwide with more than 8000 workers.
