The Bula Football Club (FC) will hold its first open training session at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba on Wednesday as preparations intensify for the start of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Professional League.

With just 13 days remaining before the historic competition kicks off, the club is inviting fans to experience what a professional football training environment looks like.

Acting chief executive officer Anushil Kumar said the initiative was aimed at bringing supporters closer to the team as it embarks on a new chapter.

“The fans have seen the local clubs and districts training but they haven’t witnessed their first professional club training,” said Kumar.

He said the session would not only provide insight into the team’s preparations but also allow supporters to personally interact with players and officials.

“The last 30 minutes of the session is allocated for players to meet and greet with fans so the fans can get to meet and talk to their favourite players.”

The open training session will begin at 8.30am on Wednesday, with fans welcome to observe the full 90-minute hit-out.

Kumar confirmed that the usual training format will be adjusted to include fun and engaging activities designed to entertain those in attendance.

From 10am to 10.30am, fans will be given the opportunity to meet the players and club officials, further strengthening the connection between the team and its growing supporter base.

Meanwhile, as the opening match draws closer, Bula FC will adjust its training schedule.

From tomorrow, the team will move to one training session per day, down from the two daily sessions they have been undertaking during the heavy preparation phase.

Bula FC will face Vanuatu United in their opening match on January 17.

The opening round of the OFC Professional League will be played at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand.
