A GROUP of Fijian workers who left to be part of the Pacific Labour Scheme in Tamworth, New South Wales have been making headlines on the rugby fields.

The group left Fiji to work in fruit fields and in the afternoon these workers play touch rugby, They formed a rugby team and practised Mondays and Wednesdays after work.

Community member and team liaison officer, Jeremaia Marawa said what started out as a casual game of touch football had grown into the forming of the ‘Bula Brothers’ 7s team.

“It’s a chance for them to work on their physical health and to connect with other workers in the area,” he said.

For their first competition the side travelled to Inverell to compete in a 7s tournament.
