It was a well orchestrated performance by the Digicel Bula Boys which saw the side thump Samoa 9-1 in its second pool match at the OFC Men’s Nations Cup in Suva last night.

Setareki Hughes opened the scoring in the third minute with a powerful drive to put the home side ahead.

Hughes then turned provider crossing for Thomas Dunn who headed in Fiji’s second.

Captain Roy Krishna added a third before the break to see Fiji leading 3-nil at halftime.

Samoa made a good comeback scoring early in the second spell to close the gap to 1-3 but it was all Fiji since then.

Hughes and Krishna added their second while Filipe Baravilavila got on the score sheet as well.

Etonia Dogelau came off the bench and grabbed a brace of his own while Nabil Begg also managed a goal.

Hughes was named player of the match for his two goals and two assists.

Fiji takes on Tahiti in its last pool match at 7pm at the HFC Bank Stadium on Saturday.
