Fiji Football national men’s team coach Rob Sherman wants his players to be in their best form to stand a chance against Papua New Guinea in their opening Group B match of the OFC Men’s Nations Cup today.
The team trained as a full squad from Tuesday with the arrival of overseas based players and the morale has been high since.
Captain Roy Krishna has been leading his men in training as coach Sherman weaves in a winning plan against PNG.
“We have a good history with PNG and so it will be a tough game and we make no excuses about that,” coach Sherman said in an interview with this newspaper.
This warrants the need for the best to be on show when the two teams meet in Suva today.
“So, we have to be on our best, thoroughly prepared and let’s hope of what it will be it,” the head coach added.
Fiji’s squad has a good mixture with majority of the players having some level of international experience.
The Bula Boys take on PNG at 4pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Laucala Bay.
