THE Fiji Bula Boys football side played to a three-all draw with the Solomon Islands in their MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2026 opener in Suva on Friday night.
Fiji skipper Roy Krishna found the back of the net in the 26th minute, while upcoming sensation Maikah Dau added another goal before the break and Thomas Dunn scoring in the 54th minute.
The visitors were just as hungry for a win with Rooney Riugaemai tying the scoreline after Krishna’s goal, Jayroll Pati charging a second goal in the 82nd minute before Javin Wae tied the scores in injury time.
Fiji’s Tevita Waranivalu copped a red card in the 72nd minute.
Meanwhile, Papua New Guinea played prior to Fiji’s clash and won 2-1 over Vanuatu.
In that match, both teams were locked nil-all at half-time before NiVan Tony Kaltak scored in the 77th minute, Nalau Moses of PNG in the 85th minute and Ezekiel Vela of Vanuatu in the 87th minute to bring them victory in their MSG opener.
The Bula Boys turn their sights to Vanuatu tomorrow night at 7pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
