WITH Diwali approaching, Mahesh Syndicate has extended their range of firecrackers, including cakes, fountains and small types of usual sparkles and pops, to cater for budget of all sizes.
Mahesh Syndicate general manager Vinay Kumar said while cost of fireworks has increased due to higher freight and compliance costs, the company has consumers covered with their range of prices.
Mr Kumar said with Diwali approaching, they would like to share information regarding the use and purchase of fi reworks in accordance with the explosives act, fireworks are generally not permitted to be used or discharged outside designated hours with the exception of Diwali day, where they are permitted for use from 5pm to 12am midnight.
“We urge everybody to use fireworks safely and responsibly, ensuring no lives and property are put at risk, as well as supervision by adults.
“We are very lucky in Fiji to have fireworks as many countries have no fireworks. We are very grateful the Government is still allowing us to bring it in even though it is limited.”
Mr Kumar said they will be opened from 9am to 3pm on Diwali day for late shoppers.
