FIJIAN professional boxing is poised for an exciting era with two international titles strapped onto two of our best boxers.
Junior Binnu Singh and Mikaele Ravalaca made history on Saturday night at the Stratum Constructions ZEG Kings Boxing promotion capturing the Super Bantamweight WBA Oceania Interim title and the WBA Lightweight Oceania title respectively.
Singh made light work of his Thailand opponent Apichart Klintai with a round 2 technical knockout in the main bout of the promotion.
In the beginning of the second round Binnu pressured Klintai connecting a powerful left uppercut exposing Klintai’s head, which he timed perfectly with a powerful right hook knocking him down.
In the main supporting bout, Ra man Ravalaca made a huge statement stopping “The Removalist” Francis Chua in round 7 in a devastating beatdown.
The beatdown began in round two as Mika began to dismantle his opponent with sharp counters and powerful combinations.
Chua’s corner threw in the towel in round seven saving their fighter from further humiliation, marking it a sweet and memorable victory for the Ra man.
At the conclusion of the promotion, both fighters have stated their intentions to fight each other but at their respective weight class.
Junior Binnu Singh has stated that he is willing to fight Ravalaca but at Superbantam weight.
“I’m always ready on my weight, if anyone wants to fight me on my weight, I’m ready.
“If he (Mika Ravalaca) wants to fight me on my weight at 55kg I’m ready.”
When asked if he is willing to put his title on the line he said, “Put all the titles on the line, no worries I’m always ready to fight anyone on my weight.”
Ravalaca responded to Binnu’s challenge but wants the fight to happen at lightweight 59kg.
“I want to fight Binnu Singh for my 59kg title, I’m here and I know it’s a good fight.”
He says he is willing to put everything on the line.
“Yes off course I’ll put everything, even the money all my purse at 59kg anytime or anyplace, I’ll fight Binnu Singh.”
