BRED Bank opens Sigatoka branch, reinforcing long-term commitment to Nadroga–Navosa

BRED Bank (Fiji) has officially opened its new Sigatoka branch, marking a significant milestone in the Bank’s continued expansion across the Western Division and reaffirming its long-term commitment to the people and businesses of Nadroga–Navosa.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, BRED Bank (Fiji) Chief Executive Officer Pierre Tastet said the establishment of the Sigatoka branch represents more than an expansion of physical infrastructure.

“This branch is a clear sign of our long-term commitment to Sigatoka and to the wider Nadroga–Navosa community,” Mr Tastet said. “At a time when many banks are reducing their physical presence and moving services entirely online, we have made a deliberate choice to invest in proximity, human relationships, and being present alongside our customers.”

Mr Tastet said Sigatoka was selected due to its strong economic contribution to the province, particularly through agriculture, tourism, small businesses, and local markets. He also acknowledged the town’s reputation as Fiji’s “rugby town”, noting its proud sporting heritage and its role in shaping national talent.

The new branch will provide a full range of everyday banking services, support for businesses and professionals, and financial guidance for families and entrepreneurs planning for the future.

“Above all, customers will find something which no application can replace – people who listen, understand, and care,” Mr Tastet said.

He said BRED Bank’s ambition is to become a trusted financial partner for individuals, professionals, and businesses throughout Sigatoka and Nadroga–Navosa.

The CEO paid tribute to Sigatoka Branch Manager Ann Pesamino and her team, recognising their professionalism, community knowledge, and commitment to customer service.

“They are the face and the voice of BRED Bank in Sigatoka, and their commitment will make the difference every single day,” he said.

Mr Tastet noted that while the Bank continues to invest in digital services such as BRED Fiji Connect and BRED Business Connect, physical branches remain central to its customer-focused approach.

“The future of banking lies in combining digital efficiency with human proximity, allowing customers to manage their day-to-day transactions online while accessing personalised advice at the branch when needed,” he said.

Addressing the people of Sigatoka and the wider Nadroga–Navosa province, Mr Tastet emphasised that the new branch is intended to serve the community over the long term.

“This is your branch. We are here to support your projects, your businesses, and your families over the long term,” he said.

Mr Tastet officially declared the Sigatoka branch open, thanking customers, partners, and community leaders for their trust and continued support.
