Bula FC head coach Stephane Auvray says his players are slowly adapting to the intensity of training as the team continues preparations for their upcoming tour of New Zealand.

Auvray said the focus at training has been on fitness, endurance and athleticism, with players undergoing demanding sessions.

“We have been running a lot. We are working on endurance so the players can have good athleticism,” Auvray said.

He said the team was training twice a day most of the time, combining fitness work with tactical and ball drills.

“We have two sessions a day most of the time and we work on ball work, tactical work and a lot of running,” he said.

Auvray admitted the workload has been challenging for the players but believes the benefits will show in the coming months.

“They are adapting. They are tired because they are not used to this rhythm of work. The running is painful for them, but I explained it will pay back by February and March,” he said.

Despite the tough sessions, Auvray said the players were showing strong resistance and commitment.

“So far so good. I have to give them a few reminders, but I am still satisfied,” he said.

Auvray also praised the foreign players, saying they have blended in well with the squad.

“They are blending in very well and they are very welcome. I want them to bring professionalism and we are getting to that professionalism,” he said.
