An 11-year-old child was allegedly electrocuted.
Divisional Police Commander West (DPC/W) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa said the incident happened at Moala Village in Nadi on Thursday night.
“The victim was playing in their back yard when he was electrocuted by a live wire,” he said.
“He was rushed to the Nadi Hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.
“Investigations continue.”
Police has reminded parents and guardians to monitor their children’s activities at all times, to avoid such unfortunate accidents.
