A 13-year-old boy was just a few days away from graduating from Nausori Primary School when he died in a road accident.
Mosese Vulavula was in a vehicle driven by his father when an out of control truck driven by a 21-year-old allegedly crashed into their vehicle along Princes Rd in Tacirua on Monday afternoon.
His mother was also a passenger in the car.
Iliesa Vulavula said they were returning from picking up another son.
“He called me because it was raining heavily and while we were returning that’s when the accident happened,” Mr Vulavula said.
Mosese was described by his mother, Suliana, as quiet and reserved unlike her other five children.
“It pains me to think of the life of my son, and it hurts me so much because we were preparing for his graduation this Thursday,” she said.
“We had taken fabric material for his graduation, kalavata to be sewn, and it hurts me the most because of the future we had planned for him as his parents.”
“It hurts me ‘Mojee’, but I am thankful to God and I know that he has taken you to a better place.”
Mr Vulavula called on drivers to practice road safety to prevent further loss of life.
“Please, there is only one life,” he said.
“And secondly to the driver, Mosese has passed. There is nothing that can bring him back.”
