A 14-year-old has been convicted of sexually violating his then 12-year-old biological sister last year.
According to the summary of evidence, the victim was doing her homework when the juvenile asked her to take his clothes from under the bed. When she did so, he pushed and proceeded to rape her.
She then went to the washroom, where he further violated her and stopped when he heard his mother’s voice. He also threatened to hit her if she had told their mother.
Justice Daniel Goundar at the High Court in Suva said he was satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that the boy committed the offence and found him guilty of two counts of rape.
