Parliament will today hear a question on the issue of insurance for boxers.

Opposition Member of Parliament, Hem Chand will ask the Minister for Youth and Sports whether the Boxing Commission of Fiji failed to ensure that boxers were insured for the bouts held at King Charles Park on 26 October.

Mr Chand’s question is in relation to the boxing program in which late boxer, Ubayd Haider, formerly known as Nathan Singh took part in and collapsed soon after his fight with Australia-based Runqi during their IBO Asia Pacific Super Featherweight title fight.

Mr Haider passed away on November 11, 2024.
