Rewa Rugby Union has secured a timely boost ahead of the 2025 Vanua Championship after signing a $5,000 apparel sponsorship deal with BLK Fiji.
The agreement was formalised at a signing ceremony in Nausori yesterday, marking the start of a new partnership between the union and the well-known sportswear brand.
Rewa Rugby Union secretary Petero Kaveni said the sponsorship would go a long way in easing the burden on players and officials.
“In past years, we have been struggling to get off-kit apparel for our players and officials,” Kaveni said.
“We were like floating, taking money out from our own pockets. It was a big ask for us executives and our supporters.”
He said the new partnership would give players added motivation ahead of the season.
“This sponsorship is a great opportunity for us. It is a contact sponsor, and the first thing we want to show is our output from a defensive perspective,” he said.
Kaveni also acknowledged BLK for stepping in at a crucial time.
“On behalf of the management, president, executives, supporters and fans of Rewa Rugby Union, I would like to thank BLK, especially the two gentlemen who facilitated the deal, for this great help.”
BLK Fiji Nausori branch manager Malakai Yamaivava said they were proud to be the official apparel supplier for Rewa Rugby Union for the 2025 Vanua Championship.
“Our partnership is worth $5,000 in apparel,” he said.
“BLK outlets will also sell Rewa Rugby merchandise, and 20 per cent of all sales will go back to the union to help with general expenses and development in the Rewa province.”
He said BLK looked forward to building a long-term relationship with Rewa Rugby.
