THE Nadi football side has secured a $35,000 sponsorship from retail giants Jack’s of Fiji to prepare for local and regional competitions.
During an agreement signing in Nadi on Wednesday, Jack’s Retail Ltd CEO Bhavin Khatri said the sponsorship would allow the Jetsetters to enhance their performance on the field.
The side will don apparel and football boots from internationally renowned brand Adidas, merchandise that is solely distributed by Jack’s of Fiji.
According to Kathri, since the company was based in Nadi, this was a way of fulfilling their corporate social responsibility.
“We have a long relationship with Nadi Football and we believe this year is going to be an exciting year for Nadi soccer,” he said.
“We have the full backing and the support of the Nadi soccer community and we look forward to working with them.”
Nadi Football Association president Navaneeda Gounder said they were pleased to receive the funding and looked to strengthen the partnership further.
“We are behind Jack’s of Fiji all the way and we will give them maximum mileage,” he said.
“We will fulfil all the agreements and we will do our best to win the league. That is our main aim.
If we win the league, we can play in the Champions versus Champions tournament and qualify for Pacific Cup so this is a very important tournament.
Apart from this, fans will also be able to show their support for the Jetsetters with a range of T-shirts, vests and caps that will soon be available at Jack’s of Fiji stores.
From these proceeds, a portion will go towards the Nadi Football Association for the development of soccer in Nadi.
