AN initiative of Bring A Smile Foundation, FANCA and The Federation of the Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ) has handed over 5000 diapers to the Sugar Cane Growers Fund and Sugar Cane Growers Council for distribution towards the cane farming community.
FANCA organising committee chairman Iqbal Ismail said the assistance to the farming community was just one part of the diaper assistance program.
“We have 96,000 diapers which we would be distributing throughout Fiji,” he said.
Mr Ismail added that they have been liaising with other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the country to assist them as well.
“We have a list of NGOs which are working with the Sanatan Society, Fiji Muslim League, Methodist Church and few other NGOs.
“We want to support everyone and that is why this initiative was undertaken.”
