The 2026 Golf Fiji Pro Am is already building momentum, with Paradise Beverages tipped to come on board again as major sponsor following a successful 2025 tournament over the weekend at Denarau.
Paradise Beverages General Manager Mike Spencer confirmed discussions are underway and revealed bold plans to elevate the event to new heights.
“We are looking at what we will do with Denarau Golf Club for the Pro Am so we can make it bigger and better,” Spencer said.
He reflected on the long-standing connection between Paradise Beverages and the sport, dating back to the early years of Golf Fiji.
“I think what happened was Golf Fiji started 55 years ago. When the Fiji Open started, it was the Fiji Bitter Fiji Open, and it went for four days. In fact, in those days, we had professionals from Australia and New Zealand playing,” Spencer explained.
While there have been years without sponsorship, he confirmed that Paradise Beverages is now exploring a broader golf investment strategy in Fiji.
The 2026 Pro Am is expected to take place in May, ahead of Spencer’s planned departure from the company.
Stakeholders are hopeful the tournament will attract regional pros and boost tourism and sports engagement on Denarau Island.
Further announcements are expected once sponsorship details are finalised.
