The Suva women’s football team defeated Rewa 1-0 in the second round of the Digicel Women’s Super League.

The lone goal was scored by captain Litiana Bolaivanua. Suva went down to Ba 0-8 in the first round.

Bolaivanua said the players knew their assignment and a win was a must.

“We really needed a win because we didn’t start off well last week and during the women’s Inter District Championship last month,” she said.

“Going down to Ba in the first round was unexpected. We didn’t have a lot of time training due to weather and the ground was always closed.

“We came in with one goal in mind and that was to win.

“There is still room for improvement and we will work on our fitness and our passing.”
