Fiji rugby sevens speedster Nacani Boginisoko has signed on with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua.
The club confirmed the signing this morning.
Boginisoko’s position at outside back is expected to fill in the vacancy left by departing player Ponipate Loganimasi, who now joins the English rugby club Sale Sharks.
Known for his dynamism and speed along with his ball-carrying ability, it’s the latest ascension in his career following humble beginnings at grassroots level with the Dominion Brothers in local sevens tournaments.
For Boginisoko, the opportunity to sail with the nation’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific team is an exciting one.
“I was excited when I got the call to come and sign my contract with the Drua,” he said.
“I am grateful to the management for believing in me and giving me the chance to be part of the team for next season.”
Fijian Drua’s general manager rugby, Baden Stephenson said he is an exciting talent “who has earned this opportunity through his performance and work ethic.”
Boginisoko hails from Naivakarauniu on the island of Kadavu.
