Experts tell us that the average adult blinks between 15 and 20 times every single minute. That’s roughly 13,000 to 21,000 blinks each day. Every single day, our eyes perform this miraculously spontaneous act without us thinking about it — a silent rhythm of life, a subtle reminder that our bodies are anything but ordinary.

Why do we blink? Science explains that blinking keeps our eyes moist, protects them from irritants, clears away dust, and even allows our brains a brief moment to reset and refocus.

Imagine the mind boggling connectivity between these organs.

Each blink is a tiny act of protection and restoration, a built-in safeguard ensuring our vision – the lens through which we experience the world – remains clear and vibrant. It almost feels like this one process has been “coded” into our system and keeps operating on autopilot.

Pause a moment and think: blinking is only one function of one organ in one part of our body.

Yet, it’s executed flawlessly, thousands of times a day, for decades of our lives. If our eyes alone are such masterpieces of design, what does that say about the rest of the human body?

Consider the heart, tirelessly pumping blood with precise rhythm; the lungs, drawing in life-giving oxygen; the immune system, standing guard against countless threats we never even know about or notice.

Every system, every organ, every cell working in perfect celestial like harmony without as much as a squeak or a coffee break. And the brain – a universe of complex neural networks and pathways processing thought, emotion and memory with staggering speed and accuracy.

The mind boggles just thinking about it. Even as you’re reading this, your mind is busy engaging and analysing the information to evaluate whether what you’re reading is accurate, meaningful or even useful and relevant.

It’s hard to look at this intricate design and imagine it was all left to chance. The theory of evolution suggests that random mutations and survival pressures shaped every part of our anatomy over millions of years.

But ask yourself: can pure chance craft something as flawless as the human eye? Can random collisions of atoms account for the elegance, purpose and interconnection that permeate every cell and function in our bodies?

Every blink, every heartbeat, every breath points toward a reality far beyond randomness. It points to a Master Craftsman, a Creator who carefully designed not just the human body, but the human soul.

A God who knew that we would marvel at the miracle of sight, the perfection of hearing, the rhythm of life itself. And through that marvel, glimpse His hand at work. God’s magnificent handiwork in full display.

We’re more than the sum of our biological parts. We’re living evidence of divine intention and divine purpose. Our bodies, our abilities, our consciousness, each tells a story of care, precision and love. Every part has a purpose, every function a reason, every moment of life a defining design pointing us in the direction of our destiny.

So, when you blink today, let it serve as a gentle reminder: you’re not an accident. You’re not merely a product of time and chance. You’re the work of a Master Craftsman, intricately formed, wonderfully made and held together by the Light of a Creator whose care extends far beyond what we can see.

In every blink, every heartbeat, every breath, the message is clear: we’re loved, we’re exquisitely designed and we’re never forgotten by the master craftsman, our Heavenly Creator.

Remember that, especially when the winds of chaotic change are swirling around you trying to blow your life off course.

Remember that you weren’t just an after thought of some chance evolutionary process but a precious creation of the Heavenly Creator, loved beyond words, loved beyond measure and who knows exactly the number of hairs on your head and how many times you will blink before joining Him in the afterlife.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” —Ephesians 2:10

In the blink of an eye, may you see through the eyes of your heart who you really are – a masterpiece of the Master Creator of the Universe.

So live your life filled with the knowledge, love and hope knowing you are the “apple of His eye!”
