Paradise Seafood Supplies Lautoka FC handed Navua FC a 3-0 defeat in their round 15 Extra Premier League match at the Uprising Sports Complex in Pacific Harbour yesterday.
Goal-scorers for the men in blue were Apisalome Ravouvou, Shiva Pillay and Zibraaz Shahib.
Ravouvou opened the scoresheet in the first half with his goal, while Pillay and Shahib added scores in the second half.
On several occasions in the match, a few attempts to score were made near the goal mouth but landed far away from it.
Reflecting on their win over Navua, Lautoka coach Anginesh Prasad credited his team for the work carried out on the field yesterday.
“The boys played really well in the first half. Second half, Navua came out strongly, in which we knew that they will because they were down,” Prasad said.
“The simple message to the boys was to stay composed and just enjoy the football. No rush, they shouldn’t be rushing, they shouldn’t be making mistakes because we are up by three goals.”
He added how maintaining their possession and confidence when in control of the ball was also a key reminder imparted to the team.
He said their passes in the match showed how they wanted to play now and to work on ensuring their younger players were aware of it.
“Especially the passes, the way we want to play now. We are just trying to in-build that into the young boys with the experienced players,” he said.
“And which we can see, the two goals were scored by two of the youths and that’s something positive from this match today (yesterday).”
Lautoka will meet Ba this week in the latest round of the EPL.
