BLUE Prosperity Fiji (BPF) – a partnership between the Government and US-based Waitt Institute for sustainable ocean management – has appointed Josaia Vosataki Kaulotukiyacata as its new Blue Economy coordinator.

Mr Kaulotukiyacata has more than a decade of experience in Fiji’s development sector, with a strong background in grassroots project planning, policy analysis and multi-sector coordination.

According to the organisation, he has served in several strategic roles at the Office of the Prime Minister, contributing to national development planning and Cabinet-level policy work.

It stated that he had worked extensively across project oversight, sector performance reviews and development partner programs, strengthening compliance and reporting processes to support effective delivery.

“His experience includes infrastructure governance, project monitoring, policy research, budgeting, and strategic reporting ensuring evidence-based decisions that align with national priorities,” the organisation stated.

“Throughout his career, Josaia has played a central role in interagency coordination and community engagement, ensuring vulnerable and minority groups benefit from national programs and development initiatives. His ability to bridge policy, operations, and community needs is one of his defining strengths.

“Grounded in humility, service, and a deep commitment to Fiji’s future, Josaia brings clarity, discipline, and purpose to his role at Blue Prosperity Fiji.

“He is dedicated to supporting the sustainable management of Fiji’s ocean resources and helping shape a thriving blue economy for the generations to come.”

As Blue Economy Coordinator, Mr Kaulotukiyacata will lead collaboration with government agencies, communities, and key partners to support the development of a resilient and inclusive blue economy for Fiji.
