LOCAL boxer Junior Binnu Singh has declared his intention for a rematch with WBA Oceania Super Bantamweight champion Runqi Zhou.

Binnu said this on Saturday night after wining the WBA Oceania Super Bantamweight interim title at the Stratum Constructions ZEG Kings Boxing promotion.

“I would like to thank everyone that supported me especially my sponsors.

“For this fight my team made a good plan and I just executed the it tonight”

“Moving forward I would like to have a rematch against Runqi Zhou. If this is possible, I want to challenge him,” he said.

Binnu had lost to Runqi by a split decision back in July 19, 2025, at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

Binnu started the match strong with some explosive shots cutting Zhou’s forehead in the third round, but the Chinese’s Australian fighter proved his champion status and held on as he continued to walk down the Sigatoka boxer with relentless pressure.

In that fight the judges scored 97-93 for Zhou, 97-93 for Singh, and 98-92 for Zhou, resulting in a split decision victory for the Australia fighter.

Despite the loss, Binnu Singh’s performance earned the respect of boxing fans across the country.
