Bid to terminate staff by acting Chairman at HQ fails – FNRL

Listen to this article:

An attempt to terminate all staff of the Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) has failed after the organisation confirmed the move was unauthorised and did not follow proper procedures.

In a statement, FNRL said the incident occurred on March 26 when newly elected chairman Rajesh Singh allegedly brought termination letters for staff without consulting the Human Resources Department.

“Our Operations Manager advised Mr Singh to follow the proper procedures for any staff termination. These actions were not supported by FNRL, as he does not have the authority to make staffing decisions,” the organisation said.

FNRL said the matter was addressed internally, ensuring that staff positions remain unaffected.

The organisation is urging the public to verify information directly with its office, warning against misinformation circulating on social media.
