With the tourism market expected to grow significantly over the next four years, management of Port Denarau Marina are excited for what the future holds for them.
The marina was awarded the title of Best Marina Facility in Fiji at the inaugural Nautical Tourism Awards, hosted by LUXlife in November 2022.
Port Denarau Marina chief executive officer Cynthia Rasch said “We are honoured to be recognised as the Best Marina Facility in Fiji in the Nautical Tourism Awards.
This award is a testament to our team’s dedication to customer service, satisfaction and retention, as well as our commitment to improving excellent work”.
According to a market announcement from the company, the awards, which are now in their seventh year, recognise and celebrate those in the tourism industry who go above and beyond for their clients.
It said the winners represented a range of excellence within the sector, including marinas, hotels, spas, tour operators and more.
Ms Rasch said the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on tourism, particularly nautical tourism.
She said despite facing challenges because of international restrictions, Port Denarau Marina persevered and adapted by introducing the Blue Lanes, which kept the maritime tourism industry in Fiji open and allowed the workforce within this industry to remain employed.
