National airline Fiji Airways in partnership with the New Zealand Super Rugby Crusaders team raised $NZ9000 (approx. $F11,576) in a bespoke jersey auction.

The proceeds pledged to support two impactful local causes – the Lautoka Golden Age Home and a Trash Broom installation project aimed at protecting Fiji’s coastal and marine environment.

Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer Paul Scurrah said the partnership went beyond rugby and it was about celebrating the heart of Pacific identity.

“We are proud to collaborate with the Crusaders to use sport as a force for good and to make a tangible difference in the lives of people and the natural world around us,” Mr Scurrah said.

“This collaboration reflects the deep connection between sport, culture, and purpose – showcasing how Fiji Airways and the Crusaders share values of unity, care, and community.”

The Lautoka Golden Age Home provides care, meals, and companionship to elderly members of the community, while the Trash Boom Project is designed to capture plastic waste in waterways, helping reduce marine pollution and preserve Fiji’s natural beauty.

The partnership continues to build momentum with the Crusaders team scheduled to visit Fiji later this month – further strengthening ties with the local community and showcasing how sport and purpose could come together to make a real difference.

Mr Scurrah said Fiji Airways remained committed to using its platform as a world-class airline to drive meaningful impact and flying the flag for a more sustainable and united Pacific.
