“BE ready.”

This is India’s Rohit Chauhan’s message to Ratu Rakuro ahead of their welterweight bout in tomorrow’s ZEG Boxing Promotion at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

Chauhan who is fighting for the second time in Fiji, comes with an undeniable ooze of confidence as he looks to cause another upset, four months after defeating Filise Nabua by technical knockout at the very canvas.

“Be ready because I am ready for this fight,” he said when asked to give a message to his opponent.

The 24-year-old who boasts a record of six wins (four by way of knockout) and two losses is known for his high stamins and an aggressive fighting approach.

“My preparation has been good. I have been training very hard and this time I am more fit.

“I am expecting a good fight, and I call on all boxing fans to come out in numbers and support me.”

Rakuro, on the other hand, will be looking to get back on the winning track after losing his last fight to Jese Ravudi on September 26, 2025.

Tomorrow’s promotion will begin at 5pm with the gates to open at 3.30pm.

The main bout is between Junior Binnu Singh and India’s Varun Phartyal and they will contest for the Super Bantamweight title.
