THE Swire Shipping Fijian Drua are bracing for a captivating “battle of the islands” today as the side gears up to face Moana Pasifika.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated Super Rugby Pacific encounter, Drua head coach Glen Jackson painted a picture of a clash that as proven in the past seasons, fueled by cultural pride and a desire to prove dominance.

“I just think it’s going to be a good battle of the islands.

“I think it’s Fiji versus Samoa and Tonga,” said Jackson.

The side is expecting a vibrant, loud atmosphere in Auckland.

“I know there is going to be a good crowd over there.

“I think Tana (Moana Pasifika head coach Tana Umaga) is doing an amazing job with his team in getting them playing really well this year.

“They’ll be hurting after a couple of losses, but they’ve had some really good wins as well,” he added.

Jackson believes this match presents a crucial opportunity for both sides to step up and show what they’ve learned throughout the season.

The Drua will battle Moana Pasifika today, 4.35pm at North Harbour Stadium, Auckland in New Zealand.
