OLYMPIAN Makelesi Batimala will be joining FASANOC alongside Fesaitu Mario in the new year to help in the growth of sports in the country.
This was confirmed by FASANOC chief executive officer Lorraine Mar yesterday.
“In 2017, FASANOC will be bolstered by two new staff and FASANOC is pleased to welcome into its Fiji Olympic House family Olympian Makelesi Batimala as its new sports development officer and Fesaitu Mario as Team Fiji CGF administrator,” she said.
“2016 was definitely a milestone year for FASANOC and only made possible with the support of our national federations, sponsors, supporters and friends.”
She has thanked everyone and business houses who had helped FASANOC.
“We also acknowledge national federations who provided opportunities for high level competition for athletes to excel in Fiji. FASANOC thanks all its stakeholders, sponsors and supporters for their support throughout the year,” she said.
“We particularly acknowledge the support and cooperation of IOC Olympic solidarity, the Rio organising committee, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Fiji National Sports Commission, the Fiji Sports Council and our major sponsors like Vodafone, BLK, BSP, Fiji Water and JR White. We also very much appreciated the support of our official providers Dahia, Teivovo, Star Printery and The Fiji Times.
“In acknowledging the outstanding performances of 2016, FASANOC also pays tribute to the resilience of our sports people in moving forward after Tropical Cyclone Winston and excelling despite the challenges in the aftermath of the cyclone.”
