FOR the last rugby league clinic for the year, Fiji Bati head coach Wise Kativerata will be visiting Nakorosule Village in Naitasiri with a few members of his rugby league academy.
The former Fiji Bati rep has been conducting visits to schools, villages, and communities all over Fiji for the past few months in a bid to rekindle the love for rugby league in the country.
Kativerata joined the Fiji Bati as head coach in February earlier this year, where he replaced former head coach Josaia Rabele who took the Bati to the 2022 Rugby World Cup in England.
“For our last visit of the year, we will be going to Nakorosule Village in Naitasiri,” he said.
“We have three boys in the academy who are from Nakorokosule, and they had asked if we could visit their village for our last clinic visit.”
Kativerata also added that people from three other villages near Nakorosule will be part of the clinic.
“So, for this visit, we will be having a session with the villagers where we will talk about rugby league, and how the sport can be viewed as a source of income.
“We might do a few drills with the children and young teenagers in the village as well.”
Meanwhile, Kativerata says he will conduct more visits to the outer islands and villages next year.
“Yes, we will be going out to more communities, villages and islands to continue to conduct our visits as we aim to develop the sport.”
