WESTPAC Bank has embarked on a move to deepen and strengthen connections with its Pacific business through regular visits by its Australian-based senior executives.
Managing director of Westpac Pacific Emma Low visited Fiji early this month and met with staff and customers.
“Her visit reaffirms our commitment to empowering women in the workplace and furthering our mission to deliver innovative solutions for our customers across Fiji and the Pacific,” Westpac Fiji’s chief executive officer Shane Smith said.
Ms Low also met with the Women of Westpac (WoW) Fiji group in Namaka, Nadi, according to a statement on her visit issued by Westpac Fiji last week.
“The group, an extension of WoW Australia, is one of Westpac’s largest employee advocacy groups,” it stated.
“It was established to help, engage, motivate and advocate for women in Westpac, supporting them with opportunities to reach their full potential.
“Emma met with around 40 women employees and spoke about the importance of mentorship and lifting each other up, work-life balance, well-being and career development and opportunities.”
Ms Low shared her priority of championing current and future female leadership of Westpac in the Pacific.
“It was incredibly inspiring to hear their stories, experiences and passion for the great business that we have,” she said.
While here, Ms Low also made her first visit to Westpac’s iconic Levuka Branch which was established in1909 and is currently being run by four staff.
“I was truly inspired by our all-star branch team, who have maintained such wonderful relationships with our customers in the local community,” she said.
“At Westpac, this is such an important pillar and our team in Levuka embodies this perfectly.
“Their focus on excellence in service and through responsive and consistent interactions with all our customers has been nothing shy of remarkable. I couldn’t be prouder.”
