THE Fiji Development Bank (FDB) has gained recognition after receiving an award at the 2025 Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) Development Awards under the ‘Local Economic Development’ category followings ADFIAP’s 48th annual meeting last month in Muscat, Oman.
In a statement this week, FDB said it received this award through its: ‘The FDB Leveraging its Financial Instruments through Stakeholder Collaboration’ project, an initiative showcasing FDBs commitment to promoting sustainable economic growth and inclusive development.
“ADFIAP, with currently 97 member institutions in 42 countries, is the focal point of all Development Banks and other financial institutions engaged in the financing of development in the Asia-Pacific region. The awards ceremony celebrated remarkable efforts and outstanding achievements from member institutions across Asia and the Pacific.
“The Association remains the leading platform for Banks to collaborate with other Development Banks to join forces on issues, challenges, and successful implementations aligned with its member base.
FDB general manager relationship & sales Titilia Kamil, in accepting the award as FDBs representative, said she was honoured to represent FDB at the event especially accepting the award on behalf of the bank.
“This recognition serves as clear proof that our work within local communities is making a meaningful impact and lays a strong foundation for continued progress and inclusive development. This award celebrates the project’s innovation and real-world impact. It’s about making a difference in people’s lives.
“FDB’s initiative fuels local businesses and rural communities. It shows how smart financing can lift up everyday Fijians. Behind every loan, there’s a farmer or an upcoming entrepreneur whose future is being built,” Ms Kamil said.
She further acknowledged FDBs stakeholders, Government, and customers supporting the Bank in driving developmental progress in Fiji.
