Ten wheelchairs were donated by Bank of Baroda Fiji to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital to support the services provided there.

The donation was given as part of the bank’s 17th Foundation Day celebration on Friday with the slogan “Trusted Today, Transforming Tomorrow”.

The celebrations started with a walk-a-thon held at Albert Park in Suva and the planting of 117 mangrove saplings alongside Queen Elizabeth Dr to mark the occasion.

While making the presentation, Bank of Baroda CEO, Lekshmy Anand emphasised the bank’s ongoing partnership with the CWM Hospital.

She highlighted a previous donation made in 2023, when the bank provided sheets and pillowcases to the hospital.

CWM Hospital medical superintendent, Dr Luke Nasedra and Board of Visitors chairperson, Dr Esther Williams conveyed their gratitude saying they looked forward to a growing partnership between the bank the hospital for inclusive health services for patients with special needs.

Ms Anand said they would be engaging in various other activities such as donating hygiene kits and groceries to old age homes and orphanages across the country.

She said Foundation Day was not just an occasion for celebration, but also signified the bank’s commitment to the wellbeing of their customers and communities.
