ANZ has officially reaffirmed its commitment to excellence by maintaining its position as the naming rights sponsor for the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA).

The event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa on February 28.

This partnership has spanned more than a decade and serves as a cornerstone of the bank’s corporate social responsibility and economic alignment strategy within the South Pacific.

In an exclusive interview with The Fiji Times, ANZ’s head of Commercial Banking Nathan Wilson said the bank’s involvement is more than a branding exercise.

He said that the decision to continue the sponsorship is a direct reflection of ANZ’s long-term vision for Fiji’s economic stability and prosperity.

“ANZ has proudly supported the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards for many years, including more than a decade as naming rights sponsor,” Mr Wilson said.

“Our involvement reflects ANZ’s deep commitment to Fiji’s long term economic success.”

The significance of the tourism sector to the national accounts cannot be overstated, with the industry acting as the primary engine for foreign exchange and employment.

Mr Wilson pointed out that the industry’s reach extends far beyond the beachfront resorts, trickling down into various sectors of the local community.

“Tourism is such a big deal for Fiji, it makes up around 40 per cent of the economy and reaches into almost every part of our community in one way or another.”

By anchoring the FETA awards, ANZ will provide a platform that recognises the excellence required to maintain Fiji’s competitive edge on the global stage. Mr Wilson said the awards serve as a vital thank you to the industry stakeholders who maintain the nation’s reputation.

“Supporting these awards is our way of saying ‘We see the impact this industry makes, and we’re right here backing it.’ FETA celebrates the people and businesses who make Fiji shine, and that lines up perfectly with what ANZ stands for.” Mr Wilson said the partnership remains a simple choice for the financial institution

“When the industry succeeds, Fiji succeeds.”

Meanwhile, the bank’s leadership believes that such public endorsements of excellence are critical for morale and continued investment.
