WESTPAC Fiji has started major renovations at its main Suva Branch at as it moves to make banking simpler and more efficient for its customers.
The nation’s longest-running bank established its first branch on Thomson Street, Suva, on August 12, 1901, originally as the Bank of New South Wales and rebranded as Westpac House in 2015.
In a statement, the bank said the refurbishment of its headquarters will feature a modernised layout, improved accessibility and upgraded facilities designed to make everyday banking faster and more convenient.
Westpac Fiji chief executive officer Shane Smith said the investment reinforces the bank’s long-term commitment to its customers and the wider community.
“We are excited to bring a refreshed and modern banking environment to our Thomson St customers.
“While the branch will look different over the coming months, our service remains the same, reliable, accessible and customer focused.
“We appreciate our customers’ patience as we create a better banking experience for everyone,” Mr Smith said.
The branch will remain open and fully operational throughout the renovation period, ensuring customers can continue to access all essential banking services without disruption.
Renovation work began yesterday.
Meanwhile, the bank is also strengthening its customer–first approach through an expanded series of visits by its leadership team this year to meet with business owners, community partners and industry leaders.
“This program ensures we hear directly from our customers, understand the environment they operate in, and ensure our financial solutions evolve with their needs,” Mr Smith said.
“Our commitment is to grow alongside our customers and contribute to stronger, more inclusive economic outcomes across the country.”
The bank’s teams have travelled to Suva, the Western Division in Ba, Lautoka, Rakiraki, the Coral Coast and Northern Division in Savusavu and Labasa.
