More than 2000 people are expected to attend the VT1s Suva concert scheduled for tomorrow at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
VT1s managing director Tikiko ‘Tix’ Korocowiri told reporters yesterday the label was pushing towards record-breaking sales, with more than 50 per cent of ticket sales achieved, a first for the label.
“Just looking at the sales, we might be actually pushing towards 3000 even, which would be a VT1s record,” Mr Korocowiri said.
“It’s great to see those kind of numbers coming out to the show this weekend.
“And we also have a market that will be open from 4pm, so people who come in early can take advantage of the vendors who will be there.”
Joining the team is Pacific Islands sensation Myshaan Komene who arrived in the country this week; he will perform his popular song Carry My Heart with Kali Tui and ‘Angel’ with Nicky Beddoes.
In his bid to spread the message of love and kindness, Komene also visited two Suva schools yesterday.
“The main thing I want to do is to speak to them and just shed some light on my life as a musician, and my life as a young Polynesian artist trying to crack into the industry, but also as a young man of faith, to show that it’s possible to succeed in this industry within your morals,” Komene said.
