DAVID Baltase is the new technical director for the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA), effective this week.
The announcement was made by Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel during a media conference in Ba yesterday.
Patel said Baltase’s appointment followed a thorough recruitment process with the support of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) and the French Football Federation.
“We welcome the new technical director for Fiji Football, David Baltase, after a long interview process. We went through four interviews, with assistance from OFC, and confirmed his credentials through French Football before finalizing the appointment.
“David has big shoes to fill to ensure the growth and development of football in Fiji. We once again congratulate the Fiji U16 team for qualifying to the World Cup for the second consecutive time, and we want this to become a consistent achievement. The onus will now be on David to ensure we qualify regularly. So, David, welcome to Fiji,” Patel said.
Baltase, a former French professional footballer, brings vast experience both as a coach and technical advisor.
