On this day in 1993, The Fiji Times published two stories on its front page.
One story was about boat owners who were helping people cross the Ba river as the Ba bridge broke during Cyclone kina.
It is reported that passengers were charged 30 cents for a trip and boat owners were earning close to $200 a day from providing the service.
