Excitement builds as the Baby Pearls gears up to host the Blaze Netball under-21 and New South Wales Fijian U21 teams in an invitational tournament scheduled for July 7-11, at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
This highly anticipated event will bring together top players from Australian clubs to compete against the Fiji Pearls extended squad.
Beyond being a mere display of talent, the tournament holds significant value as it serves as a crucial platform for the Baby Pearls to prepare for the upcoming Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar.
Head coach Simone Nalatu underlined the importance of this opportunity, emphasising its role in honing player skills, refining strategies, and strengthening team cohesion in readiness for the challenges that lie ahead.
Coach Nalatu has revealed the 27-member extended squad that will represent the Baby Pearls in the Kacau and Kikau side of the tournament.
“This diverse squad consists of both local and overseas-based athletes who have been actively participating in various leagues and are dedicated to representing Fiji,” said Nalatu.
Acknowledgment was extended to Netball Fiji for recognising the support received from the Fiji National Sports Commission and the PacificAusSports Partnership in organising this event.
Their backing is instrumental in enabling the Baby Pearls to compete against visiting teams and select the best players to put forth a strong performance.
The 27-member squad for the Baby Pearls Invitational Series encompasses a talented group of shooters, solid midcourt players, and dependable defenders.
