Baby Pearls Netball team is in the final stages of preparing for the World Youth Cup in Gibraltar, which is set to begin next week.
Head coach Simone Nalatu has been focusing on ensuring that the players understand their roles and responsibilities in their positions.
She adds the team has been training hard at home in the past few weeks to build confidence and make sure that they have covered all bases before heading to Gibraltar.
“The last couple of days now, that we are trying to be finalising our preparations, for the players to know their role and responsibility, in the various positions,” said Nalatu.
“Also to make sure we got a lot of confidence, we are lucky to train here home for the last few weeks, when we get on the plane, we should know that we have done everything we possibly can, and left no stones upturned.”
Nalatu mentioned the team’s energy and camaraderie have been great since they came together for camp last Monday.
They have been working on refining their skills and focusing on areas that need improvement. Everyone is eager and excited for the challenges that lie ahead in Gibraltar.
The team is set to depart for Gibraltar this Friday and will face off against Trinidad & Tobago in their World Cup opener next Friday.
