An elderly woman who was physically attacked at her house in Tabataba, Ba on December 6 has died.
The son of the late Anandi Devi, who died last Friday while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit at Lautoka Hospital, has spoken to The Fiji Times about the tragic incident that has left the Tabataba community in Ba reeling.
Ms Devi was allegedly attacked at her home on December 6 by a 17-year-old boy.
Her son Ritu Ritesh Ram described the incident as the first of its kind ever to occur in their close-knit community.
Family members claim she was violently assaulted and stabbed multiple times.
Ms Devi was rushed to Lautoka Hospital, where she was admitted and succumbed to her injuries.
