Navala, Sorokoba, Duiyasana and Nailaga have qualified for the Ba Rugby Union club games semi-finals following their victory in the quarter-finals at the Ba Methodist High School grounds yesterday.
In the quarters, Navala beat Balevuto 8-nil, Sorokoba edged Toge 24-21, Duiyasana had a close 28-25 win over Natalecake while Nailaga beat Ba River 15-8.
Meanwhile, in the bowl competition round two match, Nadrugu edged Koroboya 12-11 in a close tussle.
It was Koroboya who led in the first 20 minutes from an unconverted try and a penalty.
Nadrugu bounced back with a try after a couple of good phases of play to reduce the deficit to 5-8.
Koroboya increased the lead to 11-5 after they converted a penalty goal. Nadrugu scored a converted try to snatch away the win from Koroboya in the dying moments.
Nadrugu team manager Semesa Toutou said it was a tough game against Koroboya.
“We were losing in the first half and we told the boys that the focus should be placed on the second half in order to get a win. We believed in God that got us a victory today,” said Toutou.
Koroboya team manager Eramani Seavula said playing against a quality opposition was always going to be tough.
“We thank the boys for playing their hearts out and giving their best. It was a close game and their is a lot of positives to take away from the match,” said Seavula.
