BA Football Association president Praneel Dayal says the district is privileged to host the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), which begins next week at Govind Park.
Dayal said the return of the IDC to Ba comes at the right time for the football-crazy town.
“This year, Ba is incredibly fortunate to be hosting the prestigious Fiji Football Association IDC tournament. This timing could not be more perfect. The IDC is the soul of Fijian football, and its return to the soccer-crazy town of Ba is a gift.
“It allows our former players, supporters, and Ba expats from all corners of the globe to make the pilgrimage back home,” Dayals said.
“It is a chance for the entire community to gather, share memories, and collectively celebrate our ninety-year heritage. It’s an opportunity for generations of fans to connect, celebrate, and show the younger players what it truly means to represent Ba,” Dayal said.
Ba, the country’s most decorated football district, is expected to welcome thousands of fans from around Fiji and abroad as the tournament brings together players, officials, and supporters in one of the biggest sporting events on the local calendar.
