History will be made in Ba next year when the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua host the ACT Brumbies in Round Five of the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season at 4R Stadium, Govind Park.
The March 14 clash will be the first Super Rugby match ever played in the soccer-mad town. The 4R Stadium features new 9000- seater stand, multiple change rooms, corporate hospitality facilities and other modern amenities.
Fijian Drua general manager commercial Shane Hussein said: ” It’s fantastic for us to be able to take a Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific match to the fans and vanua of Ba. The new 4R Stadium has Fiji’s largest grandstand with more than 9000 seats which means we’ll be able to offer multiple seated tickets at great value price.”
The Drua’s campaign kicks off on February 14 against Moana Pasifika at their fortress, Churchill Park in Lautoka. Head coach Glen Jackson said starting the season at home, against fellow Pacific rivals, is the perfect stage-setter.
“It’s always a fierce contest when we meet, a true reflection of the passion both teams bring.
“Starting the season in front of the world’s best fans gives us the perfect boost,” Jackson said.
Moana Pasifika coach Tana Umaga echoed the excitement, saying their clash with the Drua is more than just a match it’s a cultural showcase.
“We are deeply connected with the Drua to open the season in Fiji is going to be special.”
The 2026 season promises to be the biggest yet with 77 matches, a 16-round regular season, and a revamped six-team Finals Series. Fans can also look forward to matches in Tonga, the return of Super Round during the ANZAC Day weekend, and the grand opening of Christchurch’s new One New Zealand Stadium.
Super Rugby Pacific CEO Jack Mesley said the competition continues to grow in excitement and reach.
“Thirty years on from the first Super Rugby season, the competition still delivers what makes it special world-class players, high-octane rugby, and a connection to communities right across the Pacific.”
