THE Ba Rugby Union has announced the postponement of the much-anticipated “Battle of the Bridge” trial match.

The decision follows recent updates from the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU), which indicated that the 2025 Skipper Cup season is likely to run from August to November.

They will give update on the date following the FRU AGM on Saturday, a BRU statement read.

“Given this timeline, Ba Rugby Union officials felt there was little benefit in conducting trials at this stage. The FRU will provide further clarity at their Annual General Meeting on November 9.”

Should the Skipper Cup season instead be scheduled to start in February or March, Ba Rugby Union plans to reschedule the “Battle of the Bridge” for later in the month.

The union expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to players and fans, with a message of appreciation for their understanding.
