BA Methodist High School is bracing for a big day of rugby league action as its teams prepare for the West Secondary School Rugby League quarterfinals at 4R Stadium in Ba this Saturday.
The Ba-based school heads into the knockout stage with confidence, building a reputation as one of the teams to beat in the Western Division.
Much of its recent rise has been credited to the establishment of the Ba Rugby Academy within the school, which has attracted some of the region’s top young talent.
All eyes will be on their three grades, with the U15 side set to face SMC Knights, while the U17 team takes on Drasa Rams. The Under-19 side has already secured a place in the national quarterfinals, further underlining the school’s strength across all levels.
Teacher-in-charge David Wise said the team was ready for the challenge ahead.
“We are looking forward to the games. It will be an exciting day,” Wise said.
He is calling on supporters to rally behind the teams as they take the field.
“We expect our fans to come out in numbers and support our three teams. It will be tough games, but the boys are prepared.”
