INVESTIGATIONS have begun into a fire at the Energy Fiji Ltd Lautoka office around midday yesterday.

According to witnesses, the blaze allegedly started from the office’s server room.

Firefighters from the National Fire Authority’s Lautoka and Nadi stations were deployed to contain the heavy smoke that bellowed out of the office for close to an hour.

Eyewitnesses saw three fire trucks and officers using water sourced from two fire hydrants, preventing the fire from spreading to neighbouring officers.

Police confirmed investigations into the fire have started.
